- Partner spot control — 5 in a row
Target knockout
Put 3–5 small targets on a net — cones, numbers, tape squares. Command, pressure, and competition.
- Each player gets 5 pitches per round
- Hit a target = 1 point
- Hit the bonus small target = 3 points
- After 3 rounds, highest score wins
21 count
First pitcher to hit exactly 21 points wins. Go over and you drop back to 15. Strategy and precision under pressure.
- Middle target = 3
- Corners = 5
- Miss entirely = –1
Freeze out
Every pitch feels like a real at-bat.
- Each pitcher throws 1 ball
- Hit the zone and you freeze the next thrower — they skip a turn
- Frozen twice and you're out that round
- Last pitcher standing wins
Pitcher's poker
Assign each location a card value. High in is an ace. Low away is a king. Low in is a queen. Middle is a 10. You have to locate to all the quadrants.
- Each pitch earns a card
- Build the best poker hand in 10 pitches
Battle boxes
Divide the strike zone into 6 labeled boxes. Game-speed execution with consequences.
- Coach calls a battle box — low-away, whatever it is
- Each pitcher gets 2 pitches to hit it
- Hit it = win the battle, 1 point
- First to 5 wins
Around the world
Hit all 6 zones in order — up-in, up-middle, up-away, and on around. Smooths out command across the whole zone.
- Each player gets 2 shots at each zone
- Miss both and you stay on that zone until your next turn
- First to finish all zones wins
Strike zone bowling
Put 10 cones in a bowling formation behind home plate or on a net. Accuracy plus a visual target. It shows up fast.
- Each pitcher gets 2 frames, 5 pitches per frame
- Knock down (hit) as many cones as you can
Sudden death showdown
Pure pressure. Great last game.
- Coach picks a spot
- Everyone throws 1 pitch
- Closest to the target wins the point
- New spot, go again
- First to 7 wins
